posted by Stoney deGeyter on Friday, May 26th, 2006

If you are always optimizing pages then you probably know how easy it is to overlook small, but important things. The big stuff like keyword research, good copy, links, well, that’s the easy stuff to remember because that’s what SEO is all about. But it’s the small things that, when over looked, can often throw […]

SEO Quick Tip: Don’t Stuff Your Page w/Keywords

posted by Stoney deGeyter on Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Stuffing keyword phrases into your code or in the content is tempting when trying to game the search results, yet does little to enhance the user’s experience. Any keyword usage on a page, whether it’s visible or hidden in the code, needs to have a distinguishable purpose, other than to achieve top rankings.
I’m amazed […]

NO ODP!

posted by Stoney deGeyter on Monday, May 22nd, 2006

MSN has released support for a new meta tag allowing webmasters to opt out of having MSN usingODP (a.k.a. DMOZ) descriptions in their search results. This is outstanding!
What has bothered the webmasters previously is that when search engines preferred search result descriptions from dmoz.org, they did not empower webmasters to opt-out of those descriptions. This […]

posted by Stoney deGeyter on Monday, May 22nd, 2006

I hate bad customer service. Providing good customer service is not rocket science. In fact it’s easier than, say, stocking shelves, selling a product or filling an order. So why is good customer service so hard to find when anybody can provide good customer service if the choose to.
The other day I was at a […]

MSN adCenter Launch… too Early?

posted by Seth Tachick on Friday, May 19th, 2006

Ok, so I finally jumped on the train and signed up for MSN’s new adCenter PPC. It’s only been a couple of days, but so far my impression of the new system is not a good one. For one thing, adCenter told me it would not support my FireFox browser! How […]

Weathering the Test of Time

posted by Stoney deGeyter on Friday, May 19th, 2006

SEO is all about time. Optimizing a site properly takes time. Getting good quality links takes time. Getting your links to “count” takes time. Tweaking to improve rankings takes time. Improving conversions takes time. Becoming a good SEO also takes time.
But the difference with becoming a good SEO isn’t just about calendar time, but […]

Where Have All the Good SEOs Gone, Part II

posted by Stoney deGeyter on Thursday, May 18th, 2006

Last week I posted about looking for good SEOs. I was surprised by the response I got from that post, as many SEOs contacted us willing to do some outsourcing. And by and large, many of them appear to be the real deal. So I guess there are a lot of good SEOs out there […]
